The Freedom is an innovative solution tailored to a unique user group. It can be fastened simply by pressing down on the FlexiFix arms, allowing those with no hand function – or even no hands at all – to use it independently.
The belt remains open during transfers in and out of the chair, eliminating the frustration of sitting on your belt and being unable to release it.
All Soloc products feature an innovative buckle that connects magnetically. This distinctive system is designed for ease of use by individuals with reduced hand function, limb difference, or only one functioning hand. Magnets within the buckle guide the connection, while a mechanical lock ensures the belt stays securely fastened, even under significant pressure.
To open the buckle, simply press the release button or slide a finger into the pull tab and pull. The buckle releases smoothly, even when bearing full body weight.
All Soloc belts are rigorously tested to ISO 16840-3 and ISO 16840-10 standards. They carry CE and UKCA markings, and are registered with both the FDA and MHRA.
How does it work?
The FlexiFix arms stay upright during transfers, so you won’t end up sitting on your lap belt. To fasten, simply push down on both arms – no hand function required. The stud side drops into a cup on the buckle side, and magnets guide the connection for a secure fit. Once connected, a physical lock keeps you safely in your wheelchair.
To release, just press the release tab or pull the pull tab. It’s quick and easy – no tricky clasps or waiting for help.
The Freedom belt gives you the independence to fasten and release your lap belt on your own.
What sizes are available?
- One size fits most: The Freedom belt comes in a single size, with optional extender plates for extra length.
- Adjustable fixing points: FlexiFix arms offer several fixing holes, allowing you to set the distance between fixing points from 720mm to 880mm.
- Extender plates: Each extender plate adds up to 120mm per arm for additional length if needed.
- Padding: The total padded length is 600mm.
- Frame compatibility: If your wheelchair doesn’t have fixing holes, you can use a pair of frame saver clamps.
- Care: Padding is removable for cleaning, and replacement padding is available separately.
Soloc Freedom spares are available for padding, fixings, and Velcro circles.
