The Connect features a standard webbing lap belt paired with the Soloc buckle, empowering users with limited hand function to fasten and release their belt independently. This fosters greater independence and reduces the need for carer assistance.
The belt is fully adjustable, and optional padding can be added to enhance postural support. Padding is available in two different lengths to suit individual needs.
Every Soloc product incorporates an innovative, magnetically connecting buckle. This unique system is designed to be easy to use for those with reduced hand function, limb difference, or the use of only one hand. Magnets inside the buckle guide the connection, while a mechanical locking system keeps the belt securely fastened, even under significant pressure. To release the buckle, simply press the release button or slide a finger into the pull tab and pull. The buckle disengages smoothly, even when under full body weight.
All Soloc belts undergo rigorous testing to ISO 16840-3 and ISO 16840-10 standards. They are CE and UKCA marked, and registered with both the FDA and MHRA.
How does it work?
The Connect is the simplest hip belt from Soloc. To fasten, just bring the stud side close to the buckle – magnets pull it closed and lock it securely. Tighten the belt easily by pulling the large D-ring, allowing you to adjust for different clothing. To release, simply press the release button or pull the tab – no more struggling with tricky clasps or waiting for help.
What sizes are available?
The Soloc Connect belt comes in one adjustable length, fitting at the wheelchair’s fixing point. There’s also a small adjustment at the centre (rear-pull) for quick changes.
You can choose the Connect belt with or without padding:
- Padding lengths: 600mm or 800mm
- Belt with 600mm padding: Fits from 620mm to 1500mm
- Belt with 800mm padding: Fits from 820mm to 1500mm
- Belt without padding: Fits up to 1500mm (no minimum length)
Padding is removable and machine washable at 40°C (synthetics cycle), and replacements are available if needed.
The webbing is 50mm wide and made from durable polyester.
Each belt includes fixings for pre-existing holes in your wheelchair. If your chair doesn’t have holes, you’ll need two Tubular Frame Clamps (available separately). Frame Saver Clamp sets are also available.
We recommend professional fitting for your lap belt. Please note: these belts are not suitable for use as vehicle restraints.
